The Director of Security Systems and Technology reports directly to the VP of Police and Security Services and provides the leadership to effectively direct and manage the Enterprise-wide security systems and technology assets across approximately 350 locations in North Texas. Incumbent oversees a current inventory of approximately $20M in capital assets, which is anticipated to more than double in the next five years.
Develops, directs, and manages, the Enterprise-wide security systems and technology strategy in alignment with executive direction and the organization-wide vision. Collects Enterprise-wide security system and technology requirements, vets the requirements, and translates them into a well-defined and rational business plan for executive review and approval. Drives innovation and the development, with vendor support, of new security systems and technologies. Anticipates requirements and stays abreast of new technologies in the security and related industries.
Develops, directs, and manages the Security Operations Center (SOC) function and staff. Monitors the Enterprise-wide threat environment and using security systems, technology, and tools identifies emerging threat and risk scenarios reporting these in a timely and effective manner to the appropriate executives and leadership within the Police and Security organization so that appropriate deterrence, prevention, and mitigation steps can be taken.
Develops and maintains a service-based culture among departmental staff and contractors that support the organization's operations. Develops and implements systems and technologies that reduce security risks and create a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Incumbent also closely collaborates with all the director-level leaders in the Police and Security organization, including: the organization’s Chief of Police, the Hospital Region Security Directors, the Security Programs Director, and the Security Director responsible for clinics, urgent care locations and healthcare delivery within the community and at patient homes, to ensure the appropriate security systems and technology assets and resources are applied within their respective security programs establishing a robust security posture while simultaneously creating a welcoming and safe healing and working environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Directs all aspects of the Enterprise-wide security capital budget and implements a robust lifecycle equipment replacement plan so that security and technology systems are sustained over time.
Incumbent partners closely with IT and serves as the Enterprise security systems and technology owner while collaborating with IT who is the decision-maker on IT and network matters.
Oversees regional project managers who directly interact across the Enterprise with focal points within the Police and Security organization to validate the effective operation of security systems and technology.
Ensures new facilities acquisitions and renovations comply with the organization’s physical security standards.
